Welcome to K-9 Companion Campus, we look forward to working with you and your furry friend.

Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted a dog. My parents gave me fish instead. It never failed they always died. I guess a handful of food a day was too much. I have always wanted to go above and beyond, thinking, I was helping out by doing more.
Not only did I eventually get my dog some years later but I was able to work at my local veterinarian’s office giving me an opportunity to work with all kinds of dogs and other animals as well. That’s when I got “the bug”.   I wanted more dogs of my own and a way to help people out with their own dogs whenever they went away. I wanted to offer the best type of care for people’s pets while they couldn’t be there. I started my own pet sitting/doggie daycare business. I set up my home as if it was a doggie inn; all the luxuries that a real inn had to offer including a doggie pool. The dogs that stayed at my place were treated as if they were my own; lots of tender loving care and exercise. I also made house visits for those dogs that just didn’t want to leave the comforts of their own home. I learned so much about the way dogs interact just from watching them all day at my home.  Many of my clients would ask me if I could work on certain obedience commands while their dog stayed at my house. I thought that was a great idea and was happy to help out. Then it dawned on me why don’t I teach group obedience classes.
While I worked at growing my home based pet sitting /doggie daycare business I put my self through school to become a dog obedience instructor. I received my degree from Animal Behavior College. I studied under Deneen Ballistere of Pet and Praise. With her 14 years plus experience she has taught me many of the things needed to know to become a successful dog obedience instructor.  My schooling and years of working with dogs have introduced me to many different ways to train dogs. I use a reward based approach to training. I also teach that if in the beginning your reward is food eventually you will have to wean your dog off the treats and use just praise, love and attention as the reward.
